Honors Art & AP Studio Art
Honors Art is an advanced studio based fine arts course. In this year long course, students will be introduced to a variety of media and can work on a range of approaches to art making. Frequent critique of student work, as well as the work of contemporary artists and other artists from Art History will enhance artistic development. Art Studio, Drawing & Painting are all prerequisites for this class. This class must be taken before a student can enroll in AP Studio Art. Successful work from this class can be used as part of the portfolio for the AP Studio
AP Studio Art is a year long advanced placement offering that is geared towards students who have a serious interest in the art making process. Students will complete a portfolio for the AP "exam". Portfolios will receive a grade from the college board. There are two components to the portfolio: Sustained Investigation and Selected Works.
